Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport consists of a single, two-level terminal used for commercial flights. It has 15 gates for departures and arrivals. The terminal is connected with protected walkways to the first and third levels of the parking garage. It has a built-up area of 275 thousand square feet.
It was extended in 2007 with five new gates and 10 thousand square feet of new space. It required $14.2m to build, which was given by the Passenger Facility Charge funds and Airport Improvement Programme.
Level one of the terminal features baggage claim area. It also houses the Visitor Information Center right in the middle of the facility. ATMs are located on the right side from the main entrance, and car rental kiosks are found the opposite of the baggage claim area.
Level two is conveniently provided with ticketing counters, security checkpoints, concourse, cafés, restaurants, retail shops, and a business center offering meeting offices with free internet.
